All fairing done, starting to apply the planking. Learnt a new skill scarfing plywood, didn't turn out to be as bad as I thought, just got to put the clamp in the right place.

Just wanted to submit a couple of pictures of Cherry Plum (aptly named by my daughter Sophia). I learned a lot building this boat and we are enjoying sailing her. I would like to design a kick-up rudder to make launching and retrieving a little less dramatic. Mast and boom are VG douglas fir, seats are yellow pine, stringers/rub rails are white oak, rudder and dagger board are mahogany, planks are Aquatek plywood.

Hello from Long Island, NY.

I've had a lot of fun during the summer building this modified version of "Topper". I used the Topper hull with the Sprit rig from Bull's Eye and modified the seats and added a few features to cover some mistakes. I have various photos taken during it's construction as well.

I'm in the process of starting a winter project..."Monaco".

Sincerely, Bill Yonescu

Topper by Billy Lewis, Valdosta, Georgia July 29, 2009 Here are pictures of my Topper. She's in her third season of sailing and going strong. This is my second Glen-L design (you have pictures of my Power Skiff 14 that I finished in 2004ish) and it was a perfect second project which turned into wonderful sailboat. I built this one using white oak for the stringers and seats (stringers required steaming to bend), 1/4" 5 ply marine grade okume with scarfed joints in the planking and a little bit of mahoganny for highlights. She is VERY light and strong and sails great.
