Build Your Dream Boat #3

Posted by Gayle Brantuk on Jul 15th 2010

You may be wondering if you can actually build your own boat. We are frequently asked this question and it is obviously a difficult one to answer. However, we can tell you that most who build our boats have never built one before. Our client Jim in San Diego is almost finished building his very first boat. Amazingly, Jim is building one of our 44′ sailboats and he had no woodworking skills when he began! Pretty amazing isn’t it? Or, how about Garry Stott who built a beautiful manogany runabout, the Glen-L Monaco. Garry is an accountant by trade and had never built anything out of wood. You can read his story in WebLetter 113 and you can also listen to our Teleseminar interview of him. Then there’s Steve Yokubaitis who is a petroleum exploration geologist and the first boat he built is our Riviera and he did an awesome job. You can read his story in WebLetter 106. With the right plans, the motivation and perseverance, most of us can accomplish anything. Glen-L’s proven plans are developed especially for the beginning builder with kits created just for you to help you build a boat you can truly be proud of. So, how do you get started? This link will give you the step-by-step process to get you going on the journey of building your own boat. In our next email, you’ll see photos of one of our Australian clients’ dream come true–a classic mahogany runabout that he built…be watching your inbox! If we can help in any way, don’t hesitate to contact us by phone or email.
