14 December 2007 The attached pictures are from the start of the project to the present. I will send more pictures as I progress. I am now 2 months into the project and spent about 3 to 4 hours a day, to date 191 hours. I am retired and made a deal with my wife to do household chores in the morning and the boat project in the afternoon. It is working! Ron Hoag

My Parents took me for a ride on a wooden boat in Michigan in 1958. That planted the seed for this 2008 project.
As you can see once the seed is planted I jump right in. :-) A little over five years from start to finish.
The following is a brief photo journal of the birth of \"Hot Mahogany.\"

I started the project in 2002. Due to work responsibilities and having to build it in an outside shelter which did not allow work to proceed in the winter in Olympia, Washington it has taken me 10 years to complete it.

In 2009 I retired and moved the boat to our new home in Sagle, Idaho. Since then I\'ve been able to put more time into completing it.

As soon as the water level in Lake Pend Oreille is raised to its normal summer level I will be launching.

Ken Hankinson\'s plans were great and easy to follow. I\'m very happy with the way it turned out.

I have two things to complete before launching; I will be painting the name \"Miss Cilla\" on the transom and adding a few more coats of varnish on the sides of the hull.
